The phone rang and on the other end, the operator from the fire departement answered. The woman asked Annie what the problem was, and Annie franticly started explaining the dire situation in the tunnels. She begged the department to come over quickly. But the woman on the phone explained that the trucks unfortunately couldn’t reach the narrow river’s edge, where the tunnel entrance was located.
