She heard a sound coming from behind her head. It was her mother. Was she waking up? Was she caught? Did she have to abort now? She looked around and looked at her mother’s face. She was just inches removed from her face, but her mother’s eyes remained closed. But then she saw it, the gleam of a metallic object caught her eye.
