Miranda closed her eyes and focused her ears on what was being said behind her. It was her stepson who was talking. He was whispering to his sister. Miranda’s name was what triggered her at first. But the rest of their conversation added tension. They ended with the following sentence: “Tomorrow, it’s going to happen.” Miranda got frustrated by their secretive whispering, and she decided to confront them about it after the funeral.
