When the boat got closer, Mateo already saw evidence of the environmental destruction the explosions caused. Hundreds of dead fish came floating upward and surrounded their boat. And it didn’t just affect the fish population in the ocean. Large chunks of coral reef broke off and came floating to the surface. It was a lot to take in, and they were still at least a few hundred meters removed from where they needed to be.
