Bruno became something of a local celebrity, his heroic role in reuniting the sisters capturing the hearts of their friends and neighbors. People stopped them during walks, asking to pet the “miracle dog.” Kate and June took turns telling the story of how Bruno had brought them back together. “He’s not just a dog,” Kate would say with a smile. “He’s family.” Bruno, ever humble, wagged his tail and soaked in the affection.
