The vet called in an assistant and firmly instructed them, “Take these puppies to the lab immediately.” Before Matthew could react, the assistant swiftly gathered the puppies and left the room. Everything was happening so quickly that Matthew felt completely overwhelmed and powerless. He tried to protest, but the assistant was already out the door with the puppies.
