John pressed their bed against the door to block the animal from entering, but that wasn’t a permanent solution. John knew that he needed to get help. So once the bed was in position, he inched toward the bedroom window and pushed it open. A gust of cold air filled the room as he climbed out onto the flat roof that extended over their first floor.
