Windows were shattered, railings bent, and a tattered lifeboat still hung from its davits, swaying gently in the breeze. Algae and barnacles clung to its underbelly, as if the ocean itself had tried to keep hold of it. People gathered along the docks, murmuring in hushed tones. No one could believe what they were seeing.
