Gaming gets a bad rep for being all about violence and guns.
Some people also have no interest in games as they think they will be too tricky and boring for them. Who wants to play a farming simulator for hours? (I mean, me, but that’s beside the point).
But gaming doesn’t have to be pigeonholed in this way.
There are lots of games that are actually really funny and can have you in stitches as you play along with them. Whether it’s the premise of the game, the dialogue, or the action itself, there are lots of ways in which games can incorporate humour into their workings.

These are ones I simply couldn’t recommend enough.
Destroy All Humans
Destroy All Humans has been remastered for Nintendo Switch and, honestly, this is a blessing for us all.
The satirical campaign game is set in 1950s suburban America.
You are an alien sent by your boss to Earth to collect some information and do some damage control. Your campaigns will be task-based challenges that include mind-reading, mind control, and blowing things up.
The dialogue in the game is hilarious from start to finish. It is a really spot-on satirical comedy of this time in America’s history and culture and it does a great job at poking fun at society.
The gameplay is great too and the game promises lots of hours of fun gaming.
This has been one of my favourite games to play and re-play this year and it always gives me a laugh on a rainy day.
Going Under
Going Under is an independent dungeon crawler game that is a satirical comment on what it’s like to be an intern for a modern tech company.
The game pokes fun at the way these modern companies work and the things that they say in an equally funny and accurate way. The dialogue is excellent.
The setting itself is a work of satire too. You are sent down into the dungeons of your high-tech office to defeat the zombies who live down there, who just so happen to be disgruntled ex-employees. You can use any objects you find in the office dungeons to defeat these zombies, including staplers, exercise balls, pencils, and crossbows (you know, your average office crossbow).
The game is an excellent way to vent any of your office-based frustrations and it does a fantastic job of capturing what it is like to be an office worker.
It’s easy, funny, and smart.
What’s not to love?
Untitled Goose Game
Untitled Goose Game is a basic and simple game with only one objective: cause havoc as a goose.
A much smaller game than the others on this list, this game is something to spend some time on while on your daily commute or while relaxing after work.
It is simple to pick up and easy to get hooked on.
The premise itself is what is humorous, simply going around and wreaking havoc as a humble goose.
This game reinvents what it is to be a good game. There are no fancy visuals or long dialogues, there is simply good old fashioned fun and incentives.
And why not? Who says we have to take life so seriously anyway?
