If you are starting your Christmas shopping and you want to know what to buy the PC gamer in your life, look no further than our handy top 3 list.
There are tonnes of PC games out there to scroll through and decide between, and picking just one can be really difficult.
So this blog is here to help make that process a little easier on you.
Ready?
Let’s get right into it.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
Square Enix’s new Marvel Universe game is a welcome hit. It is a single-player only, narrative-based adventure that has you play and fight as lead Guardian Peter Quill.
This game has a lot of character and the dialogue throughout the game (which is consistent) is as funny and unique as the movie characters themselves.
The plot is based on getting the Guardians out of debt and fighting your way through the inevitable battles you find yourself in along the way.
The dialogue within the game gives you options for how your own narrative will proceed and there will be different outcomes based on different dialogue choices (albeit slight).
The combat is interesting and unique and each fight is different. You can’t control the other guardians which might be disappointing to some but it does bring in a level of unpredictability to each battle, as each Guardian has their own personality and skillset.
Overall, this game is visually stunning, funny, dynamic, and great fun to play. It is miles beyond any other Marvel game that precedes it.
Age of Empires 4
The Age of Empires franchise is a solid figure in PC gaming, being around since 1997.
It is a strategy based game in which you develop and control civilisations in order to advance them. But it is far more complicated than that, as you might expect.
It is a far cry away from the bloodshed and constant action that you might expect from a war game such as Call of Duty, but it is an amazing game that has a lot to offer for a whole range of PC players. There’s a reason the franchise has been around for so long.
There are 8 civilisations in the new Age of Empires instalment and the creators have stated that the game has been modernised without being overcomplicated. There will also be no micro-transactions and nothing that takes away from the classic strategy game experience.
This is a game that you can lose hours of time to and that can be really rewarding.
It might be something different for the modern gamer but is absolutely worth a go.
Halo Infinite
You can’t go wrong with getting the PC lover in your life the new Halo game.
Halo Infinite will be released in the first week of December 2021, just in time for Christmas.
The sixth instalment in the Halo franchise, this game will feature a free to play multiplayer mode but a paid campaign mode.
The paid campaign mode is the one we recommend buying as a Christmas present for your mouse-happy friend or family member.
The futuristic military-style campaign game will have you playing as the master chief, to save all of mankind and humanity as we know it.
The game is a visual masterpiece, packed full of impressive combat in a wide-open space, the largest in any Halo game so far.
Any kind of PC player will love to see this game wrapped under the tree this year, the only downside is you might not see them for a couple of weeks after they boot it up.
What game is your favourite from this list? What will you be buying this Christmas?
