Travelling is an amazing experience. It helps us to learn about other people, other cultures, and to explore new places. It also helps us gain perspective and insight into ourselves and how we live our own lives. It is something that really opens our horizons and helps us to grow and develop as people.
But it is also expensive and sometimes hard to organise.
This means a lot of us do it a lot less than we would like to.
If you would like to learn how to travel more frequently in order to get all these great benefits of travelling, check out our top advice below on how to do so.
Go on smaller trips
Sometimes we think when we go away that we need to go away for 2 or 3 weeks to make the most of it. This is absolutely not true and can hold us back from travelling as much as possible.
If you want to travel more, try going on smaller, short-length trips more frequently. Take all the long weekends and bank holidays you can in order to maximise your time off work. Fit in city breaks and long weekends in new locations. You would be surprised at how much of a city or two that you see in that time.
It won’t be as relaxing as spending two weeks by a pool, sure. But it will allow you to see as much of Earth as possible while you can and help you to have as many cool experiences as possible.
It is usually cheaper too as you need to spend a lot less on accommodation.
Take advantage of deals, coupons, and offers
One of the biggest things that holds us back from travelling as much as we want to is being able to afford it.
The best way to acknowledge this but also still continue to travel is to take advantage of any deals, coupons or offers that are out there.
There will always be last-minute deals with certain sites or travel agents, and you can get different deals and offers from travelling to certain places at different times of the year.
Always do a lot of Internet research before you go anywhere so that you can make sure you get the best price possible.
And remember that you don’t always need to book a 5* star hotel for your holiday. Get accustomed to hostels, Airbnbs, regular B&Bs and alternative accommodation types to cut costs on your holiday. Especially if you aren’t going for long and you are going to be spending most of your time out of your room and enjoying the city you’re in, luxury accommodation isn’t too important.
Remember that a cheaper trip means the potential for more trips down the line, and that’s exactly what we are looking for here.
Get involved in online communities
You can find out a lot about deals and get a lot of recommendations on where to go and when by getting involved with other travelling enthusiasts online.
You can read blogs, join Facebook groups, join Reddit threads, and follow influencers on Instagram and Tiktok.
Doing this will help you get all the best tips out there to be able to travel as much as possible.
A lot of people out there travel all year round and they post about it online. These are great people to take advice and recommendations from because they are doing the exact thing that you want to do.
Don’t do it alone, get as much input as you can from others with the same interests.
There’s a whole world out there waiting for you to explore!
