If you are someone who likes to keep up to date with what’s hot In the world of cinema right now, you’ve landed in the right place.
In this short blog I am going to tell you about 3 of the most popular movies across the world right now, tell you what everyone is saying about them, and why you should take some time to see them soon.
Let’s jump right into it.
Marvel’s Eternals
Eternals is a new and different film that is joining Marvel’s long roster of superhero movies. With a whole new cast, as famous and established as any other Marvel cast to date, and a whole new storyline, this film does fit into the pre-existing Marvel universe but it is a story we have yet to see on screen.
The Eternals are a group of very powerful beings whose joint duty is to protect and serve all of mankind. They have been quiet so far through battles and wars fought by the Avengers as they were sworn to stay out of mortal affairs. However, when Thanos’ snap was reversed and “the emergence” began, this allowed them to reunite to protect the earth from evil “deviants”.
The movie has received some mixed reviews so far but that could be down to the different feel of this film compared to other Marvel films so far. It is a little more serious and has an overall different cinematic feel, causing some viewers to feel that it doesn’t “fit in” with the rest of Marvel’s cinematic universe.
This is something to decide on for yourself, however.
The film is definitely a big leap for Marvel and it is something worth checking out before you make up your mind. It has a beautiful and big world and the characters are interesting in and of themselves. There are a lot of them, too.
It is worth seeing, that’s for sure.
No Time to Die
The new Bond film is Daniel Craig’s final act as the British super spy. Preceded with some pretty disappointing reviews from his last Bond film, this one is here to put Craig back on top.
The plot of the new film might be something you find a little jarring and hard to keep up with at first. There are some complex backstories and a lot to get your head around early on. However, it has been nearly unanimously voted that Bond is truly back in this film.
It is action-packed, exciting, and will really please any Bond fan, new or old. It truly redeems the franchise from the last escapade.
It has everything you want a Bond film to have: beautiful women, amazing stunts, and an evil villain. With all the action and excitement included. (Just keep in mind you will be in the cinema for 3 hours with this one, so remember to bring some snacks with you).
Spencer
Spencer is a risky film with a risky main casting choice. Many people haven’t been pleased with the UK’s precious princess being played by an American and many people haven’t enjoyed the film’s generous playing with reality.
It’s important to remember that this film is an act of fiction and it constructs a new Diana as a character more so than it renders a faithful depiction of her.
The movie has a dark and broody quality, with a very glum and forlorn Diana created. It is very clear what standpoint is taken on the history’s events, Diana has been the victim of the Royal Family and their actions. There’s no doubt about that depiction here.
The film is best viewed when taken as exactly that: a film. Kristen Stewart gives a good performance and does well to capture the essence of the character she and the director have created. It has an endearing and intriguing mood that draws you into the story and transports you to the mind of this Diana.
If you want to see a true story, this isn’t it. But if you want to see a great performance and a piece of cinematic art, this is it.
I would recommend you check it out.
